It all started couple days after I learned that on top of having a single and twins, we were having unexpected triplets.
The shock for me and my wife was real. After couple days of recovering from the surprise, I called a friend who has 10, yes, kids. I mean, I gotta learn from the big leagues no?
I told him I was joining “the club” and wanted to learn from older-wise, godly fathers who could give me some encouragement. He took his phone and scanned his contact list; out of 3 prospects we learned only 1 was still married and with his family.
Why are families not staying together, why are marriages struggling? I created the podcast “Ordinary Heroes: Better in 20” with 2 premises.
You don’t have to be extraordinary to be a successful parent and spouse. God made you how you are, and trusted you with the spouse and # of kids you have. You are enough, because “ ..greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” . All it takes is faithful submission to the transformation of the Holy Spirit.
Mathew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Parents are busy! Every time I scan for a podcast and see the length of 45+ minutes, I become frustrated and think “I don’t have that kind of time!” Each episode is 20 minutes or less, with the goal of giving you brief but purposeful encouragement to grow deeper in your walk with Christ.
Adding more job responsibilities like travel or extra hours may hurt your relationships more than the actual benefit. When little ones are at home, second or third jobs-to bring more money, is not ideal.
